What is an Earthquake Brace + Bolt?

Also known as a seismic retrofit, a brace and bolt retrofit—or sometimes referred to as foundation bolting or a bolt-down—strengthens your home’s structure by securely anchoring it to its foundation. This added reinforcement helps reduce the risk of shifting, sliding, or severe structural damage during an earthquake.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Will Premier Choice Restoration comply with all the requirements and timelines outlined by the Earthquake Brace + Bolt (EBB) program?

Absolutely. We have guided hundreds of homeowners through the entire EBB process, from start to finish. Our team is highly knowledgeable about FEMA and CRMP funding requirements to ensure you receive your rebate. We’re proud to be one of the few companies that support customers throughout every step of this important program.

Can Premier Choice Restoration handle all the EBB administrative details so I can receive my rebate?

Yes! Once you provide us with your EBB login credentials or grant us access to your EBB dashboard, we’ll manage all required tasks on your behalf—including uploading before and after photos, permits, and receipts—making the process hassle-free for you.

Is Premier Choice Restoration covered by general liability and workers’ compensation insurance?

You can reach out to our team at info@premierchoicerestoration.com anytime, and we’ll gladly share proof of our insurance coverage with you.

Will Premier Choice Restoration secure the building permit and upload it to my EBB dashboard?

Yes, our permits and engineering team will take care of obtaining your building permit and promptly upload it to your EBB dashboard for you.

Can I get a list of customer references from Premier Choice Restoration?

We don’t have an official list of customer references available, but we invite you to check out our reviews on Yelp, Angie’s List, and the Earthquake Brace + Bolt website. Also, when you meet with your inspector, they might be able to connect you with some past clients.

What is the payment procedure for the EBB rebate program?

You’ll make payments as specified in your contract. Once the project is completed and passes the final inspection, we’ll submit all required paperwork through your EBB dashboard to the Earthquake Brace + Bolt program. Your rebate check should arrive within 3 to 4 weeks afterward.

Once I choose Premier Choice Restoration as my contractor, if I have questions about the EBB program or my project, who should I contact?

Please direct all your questions and concerns to Premier Choice Restoration first. Contacting the EBB program directly about issues we are handling can cause misunderstandings and delay the progress of your project.

What are the next steps to get started?

To begin, we’ll need your signed contract along with the deposit. Please reach out to our Job Scheduling Department at info@premierchoicerestoration.com and we’ll guide you through the next steps in the process.

What happens after Premier Choice Restoration completes the project?

We will arrange for the city’s final inspection. After the inspection passes and you’ve completed the final payment, our EBB coordinator will submit all necessary paperwork—such as the signed-off permit, photos taken after completion, and itemized receipts—to help you get your rebate without delay.

What are the deadlines for the EBB program?

Once your application is approved, you have 90 days to select a contractor and submit the necessary documents. After that, the seismic retrofit must be completed within six months from the approval date. For more details, please visit the official the EBB website.
